FAQ Header

What are the heavy metal limits and which testing standards apply?

Heavy metal testing is performed per batch and reported in the COA. The 60% grade's highest purity (multi-step crystallization) provides the widest margin below heavy metal limits. All limits comply with US FDA, EFSA (EU), and Japan's MHLW.

Heavy Metal Limits (Food Grade)

MetalUS FDA (ppm)EU EFSA (ppm)Japan MHLW (ppm)
Lead (Pb)≤0.1≤0.1≤0.1
Arsenic (As)≤1.0≤0.5≤0.1
Cadmium (Cd)≤0.1≤0.1≤0.1
Mercury (Hg)≤0.1≤0.1≤0.05
All batch test results fall within the above limits. For pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications of the 60% grade, we provide additional testing against USP <232>/<233> or ICH Q3D at separate cost. Submit your target market — we confirm the applicable specification sheet.
